School Community

Our school community has a wide array of talents and knowledge, and we always appreciate them lending their time to help out around the school. Parents are valued partners in achieving the College’s goals. There are a number of areas where parents are encouraged to get involved.

Canteen

The canteen provides lunches, snacks and drinks to the school community and is run by its manager, Mrs Nola Bath, with the help of a team of volunteers.

A range of tasty and healthy options are available when ordering lunches or purchasing snacks. Meal orders should be placed before school, while snacks and drinks are available at both recess and lunchtime.

MVAC makes use of the online ordering platform Flexischools. Click here to download the current Canteen Price List.Canteen Price List Term 1 2017

The canteen is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Please contact Mrs Bath to arrange your child’s lunches or volunteer your time to help out.

The fiction section of the school library

Library

The school library provides students with access to a wide range of reference material, fiction and non-fiction texts, as well as desktop computers which may be used by students and laptops which may be borrowed by our high school students.

The library is open to students during the second half of lunch and after school for Homework Help or to access material.

The library is run by our qualified librarian, Mrs Colleen Stonehouse. Donations of material in good condition are always welcome, as are parents who wish to give of their time to help out.

Please contact Mrs Stonehouse for further information regarding the library.

Students line up in costume to purchase books at a school community event

At Events

A number of regular and special events are open to all members of the school community. We encourage parents to attend and take part in weekly assemblies and chapel services, the Whole School Eucharist each term, and special events such as Grandparents Day, Book Fairs and the Easter Hat Parade. Keep an eye out for notes from the school, events and posts on the website and the Skoolbag app and the school newsletter for information about upcoming events.

In the Classroom

Parents are encouraged to join in with classroom activities such as reading, art and craft from time to time. Please contact your child’s teacher to discuss ways to get involved.
